MATI’s Fight Against
COVID-19

First detected in Yuhan of China, in December 2019, COVID-19 pandemic has been emerged as a devastating catastrophe all over the world. After having the first confirmed case on 7 March 2020, Bangladesh has been locked down since March 26, extended thrice until 5th of May 2020. Apart from the hundreds of death cases the catastrophe has caused enormous misery especially for the 6 million poor people of the country including small farmers, small traders, day laborers, rickshaw-van pullers, and the workers of non-formal sectors who have been facing severe food scarcity and lost their income opportunity to maintain their livelihood.
Along with other government and non-government agencies MATI Bangladesh has been working in raising peoples’ awareness, increasing people’s resilience & capacity to combat the catastrophe.
